Apostle Antonio L. Herrera
Apostle Antonio L. Herrera is the Founder and Senior Pastor of Spirit & The Word United Ministries Inc. Pastor Herrera is responsible for equipping, training, and ordaining leaders within the body of Christ. Along with his wife, First Lady Kim Herrera, Pastor Herrera conducts weekly services for Bible Study, intercessory prayer, Sunday Worship, and conducting leadership training classes. Pastor Herrera also developed the curriculum for and oversees the new members’ training program at Spirit & The Word United Ministries Inc.
Apostle Herrera organizes and conducts conferences such as, “The Prophetic Prayer & Empowerment Conference Series,” “The Shepherds Call Leadership Summit,” and conducts special event services in conjunction with other leaders and ministries such as the “Faith Forward Series,” “Praise in The Park,” and the “Youth Holiday Toy Drive,” as led by the Holy Spirit. Pastor Herrera believes in members of the body of Christ working together to set the example of how God intended mankind to work together interacting with one another so that other believers and the unsaved will know that God truly reigns.
UNITED PASSIONS FOR CHRIST INTL. MINISTRIES - Served as a member, attending services and assisting wherever help was needed. He later served as Associate Pastor, working alongside the late Apostle Adrienne Durham assisting with member counseling and conducting services as needed.
CHRIST CHURCH INTERNATIONAL MINISTRIES - Served as Administrative/Youth Pastor, working alongside Apostle James C.A. Duncan PHD. in New York City, New York. While at C.C.I.M., Pastor Herrera served as assistant to Apostle Duncan and was also responsible for serving alongside Apostle Duncan on the team of Presbyters for consecration and ordination services. During his time at C.C.I.M., Pastor Herrera also developed a working relationship with other leaders who were connected to the ministry such as Bishop Erskine Williams and the Late Apostle Loretta Taylor.
ZOE MINISTRIES - Served as a volunteer in the administrative offices at Zoe Ministries, and within months was promoted to office manager. Bishop Jordan later ordained Pastor Herrera as Pastor of Administration, making him responsible for managing the day-to-day administrative operations of Zoe Ministries. His time at Zoe helped to further grow Pastor Herrera both in his ability to lead and serve in both a spiritual and administrative capacity.
HARLEM TABERNACLE CHURCH - Served as a member of the Choir and was on the security team at Harlem Tabernacle where Dr. Ernest Cameron was the founder and Senior Pastor. During his membership and service at Harlem Tabernacle, Pastor Herrera had the pleasure of meeting the late Dr. Lester Sumrall.
RCA Records - A&R Manager at RCA Records New York. Pastor Herrera worked with the late Skip Miller (former President of Motown Records). He worked diligently at developing the artist roster at RCA records and was fortunate to meet and interact with many major celebrities from various labels at industry events and forums.
Rush Artist Management - Worked as a tour manager at RUSH Artist Management, and helped develop artists such as Whodini, Kurtis Blow, Run-DMC, LL Cool J, Public Enemy, Eric B & Rakim, and many others. While working at RUSH alongside Russel Simmons and Lyor Cohen, he would visit his mother’s church and often attended prayer meetings with her when he was not traveling on tour. It was during these times, and the prayers of the church, which caused his eyes to be opened as the Holy Spirit led him away from the dangers and trappings of the entertainment industry to a new life in Christ.
Apostle Herrera is the father of three sons, Tony, Josiah, and Dante; and also has four sons and daughters through marriage to his wife Kim, along with nine grandchildren. Apostle Elect Herrera stated that “The journey is ongoing, and growth is continual. Each new level, each new dimension is not an arrival but a new beginning and an opportunity for further growth.” The Lord is truly leading Apostle Elect Herrera towards His expected end according to Jeremiah 29:11.
